This commenting syntax will be familiar to you if you have used JavaDoc or NDoc, but basically it is a way of flagging the adjacent code so that the documentation tool can recognize and associate the comment to the relevant code. There are other variations on the basic /** ... comments ... */ form (the Doxygen online documentation has a full list), but the example shown here should give you a good idea. OK, that s enough commenting to illustrate how things work. Time to create the documentation. You will be doing this in two steps: the first within Doxygen, and the second in the Terminal.

To illustrate, consider learning rules to predict the target literal GrandDaughter(x, y ) , where the other predicates used to describe examples are Father and Female The general-to-specific search in FOIL begins with the most general rule GrandDaughter(x, y ) t which asserts that GrandDaughter(x, y ) is true of any x and y To specialize this initial rule, the above procedure generates the following literals as candidate additions to the rule preconditions: Equal ( x , y ) , Female(x), Female(y), Father(x, y), Father(y, x ) , Father(x, z ) , Father(z, x ) , Father(y, z ) , Father( z , y ) , and the negations of each of these literals (eg, -Equal(x, y)) Note that z is a new-variable here, whereas x and y exist already within the current rule Now suppose that among the above literals FOIL greedily selects Father( y , z ) as the most promising, leading to the more specific rule

The setup wizard is quite complex and a little daunting, but fortunately you don t need to add much information just to get going. You will be able to explore the detailed options (and there are many) once you have seen the basic operation. In this first screen, you need to provide a working directory. This is used as a place for Doxygen to do its work and can be anywhere on your local system. You also need to give it a project name I used TemperatureConverter and a version 1.0. Most importantly, you need to tell Doxygen where to find the source code (this is your project s top-level folder) and where to put the output files (this is a temporary home, as you will see shortly, and can also be anywhere on your local system). Use the Next button to get to the Mode screen. All you need to set here is All Entities in the extraction mode section and Optimize for C++ output in the programming language section. Click on Next to continue to the Output screen. Here you need to ensure that only HTML is

Choose this tab and in the Topics panel, choose HTML. On this screen, you need to select the GENERATE_DOCSET option.
